The Earth Scientists were originally a trio of Rees, Smith and the Italian musician Ricardo Cloake, however these recordings date from the period during which Cloake had taken time out from the music scene to explore the distant shores of the Ganges.
Despite his absence the spirit of Cloake is still very present on these recordings which in many ways serve as a recognition of his genius.
